About

I am an Austrian water color artist. I am an amateur in the true sense of the word in that I love what I do, but do not depend on my income for it.

Originally born in Zürich, Switzerland, I spent the first ten years of my life living in and around my birthplace. At the age of 10 my family relocated to Lagos, Nigeria, where I spent my teenage years. Since then I have lived in Austria, mainly in Linz and I now live in Hargelsberg, a little village between the towns of Enns and Steyr with my wife Inga and my 12 year old son Jani.

I have intermittently drawn and painted in the past, but only recently has the medium of watercolours exploded into my life. What little time I have to freely decide on, I spend roaming the hills around our house, painting in the open air or in the confines of my little studio at home.

Like any artist, I am insanely passionate about what I do and about art in general. I am constantly torn between mastering new techniques and realising that I have barely scratched the surface. I am already resigned to knowing that my days will be too few to achieve the mastery I aspire. And yet being inexorably compelled to try anyway …
